The East Coast Eagles Baseball program includes an extensive off-season regimen dedicated to the principles of the The 5 Tool Player - the purpose of which is to maximize the player's genetic baseball potential and athletic abilities.
This program is uniquely tailored to each player starting with a Physical Therapy Evaluation to address any weaknesses, muscle deficits or any previous injuries that need to be addressed. You are only as strong as your weakest link. If any player does have an underlying injury, we offer immediate Physical Therapy treatment to the player to get them back to the playing field. If other weaknesses are determined, the player will undergo specific exercises and a rehab/prehab routine to address these issues.
Before we begin our Off Season Training regimen, every player undergoes a Sports Performance Test similar to the Nike Sparq Training module. This athletic assessment tool will consist of grading the player on his Speed, Agility, Power, Flexibility, and Strength. These test results will then be used in future testing to help determine our players physical improvements.
All results are compiled and used to create a tailored Strength/Speed and Conditioning Program.
Program Details
We do not have just 1 practice a week. We have a Strength and Conditioning routine along with Baseball Skill Development 2/3X a week. Every Player has a regimented written program specifically designed for their needs. If a player does miss a workout /game due to another fall/winter game conflict, he is urged to independently make up his session.
The Strength/Speed and Conditioning Program consists of not only weight training but also working specific baseball functional movement exercises related to the musculature of the throwing shoulder and elbow. Other areas lso focus on general athletic training in the areas of Speed, Agility, Quickness, Reaction Time, Flexibility and Power Production.
Our Baseball Skill Development consists of Pitching/Throwing Mechanics, Hitting Mechanics and Individual Baseball Position Fielding Drills. Our offseason practices focus on our players performing multi-positional exercise drills. We do this to ensure that players do not become just a 1 position player but to experience playing in multiple different positions.
